OUR BRASS RANGE
At The Multi Metals Shop we stock a wide range of Brass products, including square bar, round bar, hexagon, tube, sheet, channel, angle – all ready for fast delivery direct to you at low prices. Most Brass is composed from 65% copper and 35% zinc. These ratios can be altered to produce a metal that is best suited to a specific application. Aluminium can also be added to improve its strength and corrosion resistance.
BRASS PROPERTIES AND USES
Brass is easily identified by its bright gold-like appearance, has excellent corrosion resistance and good low friction properties that make it ideal for the manufacture of locks, gears, bearings and valves. Musical instruments are also made from it due to its pleasing acoustic properties. Brass is easily machined and both hard and soft soldered with good results and it casts well. It can also be polished to a range of finishes.
